Dear Kayaking
Friends:
This weekend in Sebring is
the 5th Annual Heartland Triathlon. As
always, Sebring Kayak Tours will offer their
services by supporting the activity with
kayaks out on Lake Jackson during the swim
portion of the event.
As part of the festivities
we will be offering a kayaking trip to
Arbuckle Creek in Avon Park on Saturday at
2:00 PM and Sunday at 2:00 & 6:00 PM
We will be departing from
the Sebring Public Library on W. Center Ave.
providing shuttle service to Arbuckle Creek,
as well as the kayaks/equipment and guided
tour of the creek.
This is a short 1 1/2 hour
paddle downstream. An ideal trip for
first-timers as well as experienced
kayakers who have never paddled this creek
before.
Arbuckle Creek flows from
Lake Arbuckle to Lake Istokpoga, stretching
through cypress strands, open grass
prairies, ranch land, and an occasional oak
hammock. A gorgeous little creek bordered on
one side by the Avon Bombing Range, which
actually keeps the area fairly wild and
natural.
$29
per person
$19 per person for registered Triathletes Price includes kayak and equipment rental, escorted tour and shuttle service.
$10
per person for those providing their own
kayaks/transportation (we'll provide the
escorted tour).
